3 Number of Years

Since the Taj Mahal is one of the most magnificent wonders of the world, there was a long period of time involved in constructing it. The tomb of a queen, Mumtaz Mahal took about 12 years to finish. The other structures of the Taj Mahal such as minarets, mosque and gateways got completed in 10 years.

There were more than 1000 elephants that were kept for transporting the construction materials. The construction of this beautiful monument started in the year 1632 and completed in the year 1648. The construction of gardens took about 5 years.

Taj Mahal has beautiful inscriptions on both the interior and exterior walls. There are 99 names of Allah on the sides of the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal.
