Christof Lehmann (nsnbc),- Syria´s UN Ambassador Dr. Bashar al-Ja´afari has accused the United Nations Independent Commission of Inquiry (CoI) to deliberately turn a blind eye to terrorists crimes in Syria and accuses the “international community” for allowing Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey to fund fundamentalist terrorism. The Syrian position elicits with all clarity, that the United Nations has degenerated into an instrument for lending apparent legitimacy to wars of aggression.

al Ja´afari July 2013UN Commission, Willfully One-Sidedness. The Syrian permanent representative to the UN, Dr. Bashar al-Ja´afari has called on the chairman of the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria (CoI), Paul Pinheiro to call things with regard to Syria by their appropriate name in order to address the root of the problems. Ja´afari stressed, that the CoI is using a one-sided perspective. Speaking during a UN general Assembly session on human rights in Syria, Ja´afari said:

” The Commission of Inquiry on Syria is still deliberately blowing things out of proportion when displaying its findings, also fully disregarding or downplaying core issues.”

”There are blood-curdling scenes that flagrantly contravene the Syrians’ dignity and human rights regarding the crimes of the armed terrorist groups, ranging from eating human flesh, cutting throats, mutilating bodies, beheadings on sectarian and confessional grounds, throwing bodies from rooftops to committing hundreds of suicide bombings using car bombs in populated areas, recruiting children, abducting and slaughtering clergymen, assassinating scholars in mosques, issuing instigative fatwas on ‘sexual jihad’, killing children on the charges of infidelity, robbing factories and transporting them to Turkey.”

Dr. Ja´afari stressed, that the Syrian government will do everything in its power to supply the commission with all of the confirmed information it has, for the sake that the commission may arrive at at neutral and independent vision that helps the commission fulfil its commitments and duties. He sharply criticized the “international community” for its overt one-sidedness, asking:

”How could the international community allow the Saudi, Qatari and Turkish regimes to sponsor fundamentalist terrorism publicly? And how could Western governments which had suffered from terrorism accept to sponsor and support that terrorism?”

”Saudi Arabia’s latest feat during Ramadan was the purchase of Israeli arms worth USD 50 millions to be shipped to the armed terrorist groups in Syria…which we hope will be the last one during Ramadan.”

”No sooner was an agreement announced between the Syrian government and the United Nations than the armed terrorist groups entered Khan al-Assal and committed a massacre against civilians and soldiers there to eliminate the witnesses who could have testified against the ones who used chemical weapons there.”

Khan al-Assal 27 July 2013. Al-Qaeda tied terrorists tried to cover-up their tracks by mutilating many of the bodies and attempts to incinerated them before dumping them into mass graves.

Khan al-Assal Massacre to Cover-Up Jabhat al-Nusrak´s Chemical Weapons Use. Ja´afari also reiterated, that the Syrian government has good reason to suspect that the recent massacre in Khan al-Assal, in which more than 123 people were murdered in cold blood, had been committed by Jabhat al-Nusrah with the explicit purpose to murder eyewitnesses to their previous chemical weapons use in Khan al-Assal. Ja´afari said:

“The Massacre of Khan al-Asal has been committed to kill the witnesses who would testify in front of the general secretariat committee on the identity of those who have used the chemical weapon in Khan al-Asal.”

The Syrian UN Ambassador blamed the UN commission for on one hand stating, that “some nations” had offered media and financial support to armed terrorist groups, but that the commission was failing to mention these states by name, even though the commission is aware of who it is that provides what kind of support to the terrorists.

EU buys Oil Directly from Al-Qaeda to Finance Mercenaries. Ja´afari also stressed, that the commission is aware of the fact that EU member states have signed oil contracts with terrorist organizations who are stealing Syrian oil. He said:

“It would be becoming for the inquiry commission to mention in its reports, the theft of Syria´s national resources by a number of EU member states which openly buy stolen Syrian oil from the armed terrorist groups.”

Dr. Ja´afari added that it is common knowledge, that the EU has made the decision to buy stolen Syrian oil from the terrorists in order to pay the mercenaries. The fact that the EU buys oil directly from terrorists is indisputable and has, among other, been reported on nsnbc in an article by Tony Cartalucci.

CoI Politicized and Unprofessional. Ja´afari stressed, that Syria, based on these and other facts rejects the reports and conclusions issued by the CoI and called them politicized, unprofessional and part of the problem, not part of the solution. He reiterated, that the world had followed with great interest, the testimony the member of the commission, Carla del Ponte, in which she confirmed the use of Sarin gas by armed terrorist groups in the Khan al-Assal district of Aleppo. Ja´afari stressed the politicized character of the United Nations commission, remind about the development immediately after del Ponte´s statement, saying:

”Hours later, pressure built on the Commission’s chairperson which pushed him to issue a statement challenging del Ponte’s findings. That said, how could we trust the Committee’s work and professionalism?”

Russian UN Ambassador “Unacceptable to Ignore Atrocities of Armed Opposition”.

Russia´s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin, backed-up the Syrian UN Ambassador´s statements, saying, that it is unacceptable to ignore the atrocities of the armed opposition, and that the commission and its report should aim at convening the international conference in Syria in Geneva.
